Latest update: No decrease in NHS Grampian case numbers

The number of cases of Covid-19 has continued to rise with a further 28 cases identified today.

During her daily briefing First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: "There were a further 65 cases of Covid-19 in Scotland yesterday taking the total to 19,238.

"In the NHS Grampian area there were 28 out of those 65, nine recorded in the Greater Glasgow area, 12 in Lanarkshire and two in Orkney."

"In Aberdeen with 28 of the 65 new cases in Grampian are, since July 26 that now means that there have been 328 cases in the NHS Grampian area and as of now we believe 198 of these are associated with hospitality related cluster and 1032 contacts now identified.

"Contact tracing continues to be a very large and complex issue.

"It is clear from the numbers that we will continue to see new cases and contacts identified."
