A total of 66 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Scotland in the last 24 hours.

For NHS Grampian, five cases were recorded with NHS Tayside seeing 14, Greater Glasgow 15 and 17 in Lanarkshire.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: "Over the last week there has been a decline in the number of new cases recorded in Aberdeen and the wider NHS Grampian health board area.

"We were therefore able to agree to lift the restrictions which were put in place two and an half weeks ago.

"However people must continue to stick to the national guidance on meetings and group sizes.

"Hospitality will be able to reopen from Wednesday, but only after an environmental check has been undertaken."

"The lifting of restrictions after what must have felt like a long 19 days will be very welcome in Aberdeen and I want to thank everyone for working to make sure this outbreak is under control."

"The people of Aberdeen have my thanks."
