MacMoray Festival - last train to depart Elgin for Inverness and Aberdeen hours before event ends
Festival goers looking at travelling to and from MacMoray using the train could face issues this weekend.
The last train leaving Elgin on Sunday will depart more than three hours before the festival finishes.
The final departure in the direction of Aberdeen - via Keith and Huntly - from Elgin Train Station on Sunday, August 11, is at 5.47pm.
At this time, the day’s fourth act - DJ Sammy - won’t even be half way through his set.
The final train heading towards Inverness - via Forres and Nairn - is at 7.28pm. This means that Bonnie Tyler (7pm) and Status Quo (9pm) will be missed by those travelling via rail.
On Saturday night, the final train to Aberdeen is at 10.16pm, with the last service to Inverness at 11.29pm.
ScotRail said the issue is to do with a pay dispute, which has left trains understaffed.
Mark Ilderton, ScotRail service delivery director, said: “We are sorry to customers who are experiencing disruption to services.
“We want to resolve the pay dispute with the trade unions and remain fully committed to further discussions.”
There is no mention of the issue on the ‘weekend travel advice’ section of ScotRail’s website.
There are plenty of parking options for those travelling with car.
Cars can park at Moray Sports Centre, on the edge of town.
Disabled parking is available at Lossie Wynd, motorhome and caravan parking is at UHI Moray.
