Keith and Cullen: Theresa Coull (SNP), Donald Gatt (Conservatives) and Tracy Coyler (Conservatives) elected as councillors

THERESA Coull (SNP), Donald Gatt (Conservatives) and Tracy Coyler (Conservatives) have been elected to represent Keith and Cullen as councillors.
Theresa Coull and Donald Gatt have been reelected while Tracy Coyler will serve as a councillor for the first time after Ron Sheperd (Independent) stepped down previously.
Theresa Coull was elected at stage one with 1493 first preference votes, Donald Gatt was elected at stage two after receiving 849 and Tracy Coyler was elected at stage five after getting 650 first preference votes.
Councillor Coyler was elected ahead of Leslie Tarr (Lib Dems) and William Keith Barclay (Scottish Family Party) who received 341 and 99 first preference votes respectively.
Theresa Coull (SNP) said: "I'm absolutely delighted and I'm so happy that people have come out and voted for me.
"I've worked hard over the last five years so I'm hoping that has paid off for me here.
"I intend to work the next five years just as hard.
"It's difficult to put into words when people have that faith in you.
"It's been a tiring four or five weeks but it's been worth it."
Donald Gatt (Conservatives) said: "I'm really pleased. We couldn't really gauge it so there was always a risk only one of us would get in but we're delighted in the end to have got both of us in."
Tracy Coyler (Conservatives) added: "I'm looking forward to the next five years and helping the people of Keith and Cullen.
"We felt we had a good chance today and we're pleased to have fulfilled that.
"It's going to be hard work but I'm looking forward to it.
"I'm very emotional because I really wanted to do this.
"We'll do good things I hope."
Voter turnout in the ward was 43.1 per cent, with 3490 of 8102 eligible voters turning out.
