A street party in Turriff's town centre on Sunday, June 5, will commemorate the Queen's platinum jubilee.

One of the big attractions is an afternoon tea, which will take place across two marquees - one on Main Street and one on High Street.

There will be two sittings - one at 1.30pm and one at 3pm - and tickets are on sale now from Traffords, KJs and Turriff Academy at the price of £10 for adults and £5 for those under 12.

Those who attend the afternoon tea will receive a special commemorative gift.

With the roads closed, the afternoon's activities will be resemblant of the town's annual May Day Extravaganza with a variety of entertainment and stalls.

From 1pm revellers can enjoy a host of entertainment from the area outside Turriff Dental Care including dancers from Yvonne Milne Dance School and music from Turriff Community Singers, Turriff Silver Band and an Elvis tribute act.

There will also be a touch of magic with magician Dean Spruce.

Deveron FM will be on hand on the corner between the two streets to keep everyone up to date with the day's events.

Elsewhere on the street there will be a selection of stalls offering fun activities for all ages run by local community groups.

Any community group interested in having a free fundraising stall should contact Rose Logan at: rose.turiffbusassoc@gmail.com, or can get in touch via Turriff Business Association's jubilee event on Facebook.

There will also be a bouncy castle and disco dome, as well as a candy floss stand and the opportunity to get braids or glitter tattoos.

At 2.45pm everybody wearing royal-themed fancy dress is invited to come along to the Deveron FM stand be considered for a prize.
