Buckie Coffee and Cars day set to drive forward entries for hugely popular classic motor show

`A hugely popular Moray car show is offering the chance to enter this year’s extravaganza - all while enjoying a cuppa, a biccy and a blether.

Buckie Classic Car Show welcomed a record 770 entrants to their 2024 event last August at the town’s Linzee Gordon Park as demand for places soared.

In order to help as many people enter their vehicles as possible to the 2025 show - including those who perhaps are not quite as comfortable with online booking - the car show committee are holding a Coffee and Cars day in the park on Sunday, April 6.

One of those looking forward to the event was Buckie Classic Car Show chairman John Clark.

He said: “Last year when we opened our website for entries for our 2024 show we were totally amazed at how quickly the online entries filled up.
”Within 15 minutes of opening the website we had 100 online entries and by 5pm the same day we had 600 online entries. We had to close the online entry website as we noticed a lot of our regular entrants hadn’t got a chance to enter yet.

”We spent the next couple days driving all over Moray and Aberdeenshire hand-delivering and posting out paper entry forms and on speaking to these folks they were so chuffed as a lot of them are not so internet savvy; some don’t even have email addresses and they really look forward to attending the classic car show in Buckie

”It’s a kind of social exclusion which is not nice for them.

”So with that in mind for this year we’re putting on a Coffee and Cars day so folk can pop along, have a coffee and a biscuit and fill in a paper entry form.

”We’re not charging anything and no-one has to book in, its nothing formal just a case of turn up have a coffee and a blether and enter. You don’t even need to bring your classic car!

”When we announced our Coffee and Cars day and why we were doing it we were really taken aback by the nice comments, messages and emails from folk saying they are always tasked with entering a family member who is not so internet minded.

“All in were really looking forward to our Coffee and Cars day and even more so for our main show on August this year.”

Mr Clark added that on the same day as the event the Moray Motor Museum in Elgin are hosting a Coffee and Cars morning from 10am to 12am so people can attend both events and make a day of it.

Buckie Coffee and Cars is set to run from 10am to 3pm. Regular updates on this year’s car show can be found on the group’s Facebook page.
