David’s appearance at the event came around after manager of Networks of Wellbeing, Fiona Alderson, met David Jarvis at an event in Banff and asked if the veteran would get involved.

Networks of Wellbeing is a community-based charity in Huntly working with mental health and wellbeing for more than 30 years. The charity offers services free of charge, providing individuals from age 11 with support for depression, dementia, anxiety as well veteran support.

David Jarvis has himself experienced severe trauma throughout his military career, sustaining severe injuries both in 2012 and 2019.

With his passion for cycling, David was selected to join Team UK for the Invictus Games. However, he was medically advised to abstain from training after his Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis.

Despite this, David continued to train and became the only Scottish male to compete for Team UK at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany.

David will not be the only star of the night, as RAF Lossiemouth Voluntary Swing Band will be in attendance.

Networks of Wellbeing’s Fiona Alderson said she was “absolutely delighted” to have the RAF group performing.

The band will provide music from singers Glen Miller and Count Basie - followed by a disco with music from 1940s and 1950s.

Tickets are on sale for £20 per person and can be purchased via phone on 014666 793792 or email fiona@networksofwellbeing.org
