Inverurie young farmers triumph in clay pigeon shooting contest

The SAYFC North Region annual clay pigeon shooting competition was held at Seafield Shooting Ground, Portsoy, with success going to Inverurie JAC.

The day saw 26 competitors from across the region take part in a 50-bird sporting flush.

Inverurie JAC showed its superior shooting skills on the day, taking first place with their team made up of Martyn Thomson, Ian Armstrong and Aiden Wallace, with a combined score of 122.

The second placed team was from Keith YFC, consisting Michael Stronach, Ricky Henderson and Tom Gillibard, with a combined score of 102.

Third place went to Mid Deeside JAC and the team of Iain Kellas, Daniel Farquhar and Richie Paterson, with a combined score of 90.

The other competing teams were from Udny, Garioch, Strichen and Lower Speyside.

The Top Gun individual competition prize went to Aiden Wallace of Inverurie JAC, with a score of 48 out of a possible 50.

The SAYFC North Region said it was grateful to Seafield Shooting Ground for its support in hosting the event.
