A990 crash, near Portgordon, results in man being flown to Aberdeen by Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance





A man was airlifted to hospital after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash.

Emergency services, including Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA), were quickly on the scene of an accident near Portgordon.

The air ambulance landed in a nearby field before flying the motorcyclist to the Major Trauma Centre in Aberdeen.

Police and ambulance crews were also called to the one-vehicle crash, which occurred near Portgordon, on the A990, just after 3pm on Friday, August 16.

The road was closed for more than two hours.

At the time, a police spokeswoman said: “At around 3.10pm on Friday, August 16, we were called to a report of a one-vehicle motorcycle crash on the A990 near Portgordon.

“A man has been taken by air ambulance to hospital. Enquiries are ongoing.”
