A STOCK judging and social evening is taking place in memory of the much-respected farming journalist Joe Watson.

The testimonial event in remembrance of Joe will be held at Berryleys Farm at Grange near Keith this Friday at 6pm.

The host farmers, the Stronach family, are preparing some excellent classes of stock for the guests to judge.

Refreshments, sponsored by Norvite, will be on offer.

Steaks provided by ABP are going to be served after the stock judging closes,.

Entry £5 (under 12’s free). Proceeds to RSABI and Macmillan Cancer on the evening.

Prize giving and presentations will be made by Joe’s family (Mirren, Murdo, Tracy, Fraser, Sam, Joe, Amy and Charle).

Joe, who was the farming editor of the Press and Journal for many years, died suddenly in 2014 at the age of 43.
