Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin lifts visiting restrictions after nearly two weeks battling sickness outbreak
Nearly two weeks of visiting restrictions have ended at a north-east hospital that has been battling a sickness outbreak.
Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin was forced to postpone non-essential visits on December 1 due to a vomiting and diarrhoea bug.
Visiting for essential reasons remained permitted, but the lifting of restrictions will allow friends and family of all patients to pop in and visit.
A spokesperson for NHS Grampian said: “We are pleased to confirm normal visiting will resume at Dr Gray's Hospital.
“We are very grateful to the public for your understanding while we managed this outbreak.”
While restrictions have been lifted, the health board was quick to remind people to stay away if they are feeling unwell in any way.
“We must stress, if you are at all unwell, with coughs, colds, or sickness/diarrhoea, you must not visit people in hospital or care homes,” the spokesperson added.
“Please wait until you are fully recovered.”
