Moray snowfall continues amid Met Office weather warning
Moray has seen another day of snow, which brought an extended weather warning, widespread bus cancellations and mid-day school closures.
Areas received yet more snowfall, as a Met Office snow and ice warning which was due to end at Noon was extended until Noon tomorrow.
Numerous bus services in and around Elgin were also cancelled, along with council-run M.Connect services.
Both campuses of UHI Moray were closed due to the difficult conditions.
And all but two of Moray’s secondary schools ended up being closed as a result of the weather.
Buckie High School and Lossiemouth High remained open, although Lossiemouth was set to shut at 2.30pm to allow children to travel home in daylight.
Keith Grammar, Elgin High School, Forres Academy and Milne’s High all announced a post-lunchtime closure.
Bishopmill Primary, Linkwood Primary and Greenwards Primary in Elgin, Mosstowie Primary in Miltonduff and Applegrove Primary in Forres have also shut.
These add to four closures announced over the course of the morning.
Elgin Academy, New Elgin Primary, St Thomas Primary (Keith) and Dallas Primary had all previously announced that they would be shutting early.
Several schools in Speyside have been shut both today and yesterday.
Mortlach Primary, Knockando Primary, Rothes Primary, Aberlour Primary, Craigellachie Primary, Tomintoul Primary and Glenlivet Primary have all been closed both days.
Speyside High School has also been shut both days.
Rothiemay Primary is also shut today.
Milnes Library in Fochabers was closed at 1.30pm, while Aberlour, Cullen, Elgin, Forres, Keith and Lossiemouth libraries were set to close at 6pm.
