Heavy rain leads to overnight flooding across the north-east

Several routes across the north-east are affected by standing water this morning after torrential rain in and around the Ellon area.

Streets in Ellon were particularly badly hit with flooding on the bypass and streets including Bruce Crescent, Provost Cordiner Road, Waterton and Snipe Road seeing significant flooding and which also lead to the closure of the Community Campus this morning.

Areas with current standing water issues as of 8.15am were -

A90 Toll of Birness.

A90 Ellon bypass.

A92 near the B&Q roundabout (surface water).

A96 Forrit Brae.

A944 Straik Road, Elrick.

A947 between Oldmeldrum and Dyce - Newmachar / Kingseat junction.

A975 - Newburgh to Cruden Bay.

B9002 Insch to Kennethmont.

B9029 Maud to Old Deer.

B1905 between Turriff and the A98 junction.

B997 between Bridge of Don and Parkhill junction.

B9170 between Oldmeldrum and Inverurie at Hoodles.

B9005 between Methlick and Ellon.

B999 between Tarves and Aberdeen.
