Valentre sounded his horn several times. The 59-year-old stopped his vehicle and became involved in a physical confrontation.

Valente admitted striking the other man several times.

When police officers later called at Valente’s home on Balnaferry Farm Lane, Forres, he admitted his role in the incident to the officers.

Mr Daglish said: “It’s a great regret to him that the incident spilled over. I’m sure it was a one-off and we won’t see him again.”

Valente, who is a first time offender, was fined £270.
