Following speculation over the future of the Co-op branch located on North Street in Inverurie, it has been confirmed that Eros Retail, owners of Greens of Ellon and Greens of Peterhead will take over the premises which will operate as Greens of Inverurie.

It was also confirmed that alongside a wide range of local producers they will sell Co-op own label products as their wholesaler.

In a statement posted on social media under the heading for Greens of Inverurie the company said: "Hello Inverurie - We’re coming soon!

"We’re bringing our award-winning convenience chain to your neighbourhood, bringing Greens of Inverurie all the things that make our convenience stores so great.

"The Co-op store at 13 North Street, Inverurie will be taken over by ourselves and will open on Thursday the 2nd of December at 6am.

"We’re excited to bring a number of the improvements Greens have become renowned for including, plenty of Scottish and local products such as Fisher & Donaldson’s baked goods, Costa Coffee, Greens butchery, Grahams Family Dairy and lots more."

The site of the shops on North Street also recently saw approval for plans to convert an empty unit which had formerly been a branch of Farmfoods into a restaurant.
