Grampian Pride are not going to let a global pandemic stop them from celebrating this weekend.

They may not be allowed to gather together in person this year but the organisers are working hard to make sure Pride weekend will still be a fabulous celebration of the LGBT+ community.

Everyone is welcome to join a family friendly quiz on Friday (May 29) at 8pm which will be hosted on Facebook live, with a chance to win a pride themed goody bag.

On Saturday (May 30) Virtually Grampian Pride will go live on social media to bring the community together to talk and interact.

Organisers are encouraging people to share images of their pride outfits and join in with a number of interactive activities which they have planned.

There will be appearances from special guests throughout the day who are looking forwarded to sharing their story, advice and information with everyone as well as answering guests' questions.

Entertainment will be provided by Shutdown FM from 4-9pm, and after 9pm Shutdown FM's resident DJ will host the after party until the early hours.

Then on Sunday (May 31) there will be a Zoom afternoon tea with LGBT+ support charity Four Pillars.

The full schedule will be confirmed and released on Thursday (May 28) on social media.

Also on the event's Facebook organisers are hosting a Still Proud Challenge where people are encouraged to post a picture that makes them feel proud, of you being who you are or of something you have done that your proud of.

Grampian Pride leader Deejay Bullock: “It’s important during these challenging times we are able to bring the community together.

"To show individuals, that maybe feeling isolated or in difficult situations of their own, that they are not alone and there is a large community around them.

"It is vital that during these times we don’t forget our LGBT+ community, we have to remember our history, celebrate our present and embrace our future.

"Right now no one knows what that future will look like, so we have to embrace it together, now more than ever”.
