The damage was estimated to be a three figure sum and they have been reported to the Children's Reporter and follows on from other incidents in Alford which have led to charges being brought.

Constable Wayne Young, from Alford Community Policing Team, said: "Vandalism will not be tolerated and I urge young people to consider the potential consequences of their behaviour and actions including their safety.

"I also encourage parents and guardians to engage with the children and young people in their households in order to have an understanding and awareness of their social circumstances."

Anyone with any concerns in relation to anti-social behaviour, can contact Police on 101 or the Police Scotland website.

Anonymous reports can be made to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
