An aspiring north-east writer has used her time on furlough to realise her ambition of seeing her work in print.

Udny Green poet Jeannie Price used lockdown to compile a collection of her comic verse which has now been published.

Beware The Odes Of March is a short anthology of Jeannie’s poetry on subjects ranging from packed lunches, Zoom calls and panic buying toilet rolls, and has been illustrated by Bramble Graphics’ designer Karen Barrett-Ayres.

Writer Jeannie said: “Having been performing my comic verse at local events and sharing it on social media for some time, I had had numerous requests to produce a book but it took lockdown to finally focus my time and attention in pulling everything together.

“Karen’s quirky illustrations complement the humour which I hope readers will enjoy.”

Priced at £6 Beware The Odes Of March is available from The Murly Tuck Café (Tarves), Hattoncrook Farm Shop and Delicatessen, North Mains Farm Shop (Pitmedden) and the Craft Bar (Pitmedden).

It will also be on sale at a pop up shop at Fleeman’s in Udny Green which will be open each weekend between noon and 4pm from November 28 to December 20.
