Groups in Turriff are being encouraged to apply for two local funding opportunnities.

Both Tesco and Coop stores in Turriff have noted a drop in applications during the pandemic and are urging community groups to apply for their funding programmes.

The deadline for Tesco's community grants - which sees eligible groups receive up to £1500 - is Monday, May 24.

The focus for this funding is food security and children and families, for example breakfast clubs, volunteer-run holiday clubs, charities supporting youth mental health, youth groups needing equipment or family advice centres recruiting volunteers.

The deadline for applications to Coop Local Community Fund is May 30.

This funding aims to support people in accessing food, projects which improve mental wellbeing or provide opportunities for young people.

Any local groups or projects which are not religious or politically based, meet Coop's values and will still be running after November 2022 are eligible to apply.
