Funding boost for Home-Start Deveron

Home-Start Deveron has received a funding boost of £185 from Mears Supported Living in Macduff.

The money will be used to help families who need assistance in the area.

Mears Supported Living manager in Macduff Sara Wilkinson said: "Given the restrictions on holding Christmas parties this year the team decided to help as much locally as we could."

As well as raising money for Home-Start Deveron, the staff also made donations to the local food bank.

Tracy Flemming from Home-Start Deveron thanked the team for its generosity which will help the charity to continue the vital work its has been doing during the pandemic.

Home-Start Deveron is based at 10 Carmelite Street in Banff and it helps families in the area with any issues they are facing.

Mears Supported Living provides services to those who need round the clock support in their own homes or in supported living accommodation, through the local authorities in each area, working closely with other professionals and stakeholders.

The care workers are able to bring a quality of life to people who need support to be independent.

Ms Wilkinson also thanked her team for going above and beyond throughout 2020 to face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.
