Friends Of The Den have unveiled their latest acquisition – a multi-level playdeck which is already brightening play time in Turriff.

A two-storey playdeck was custom designed to meet the requests of regular visitors to the Haughs playpark, known locally as The Den, and cost over £36,000.

It features two chutes – a small one for younger children and a larger wavy one – as well as a climbing wall for toddlers, a sliding pole and climbing rope for older children and a number of other features which are already exciting young visitors.

The playdeck was officially opened by Ali Strath, who was instrumental in helping the group to secure more than £20,000 towards the new equipment during her time with the group, and committee member Rebekah Beats.

The group are incredibly grateful to the former Winter Wonderland committee, The Land Trust, Formartine Area Committee, Formartine Rural Partnership, St Congan’s Lodge and Turriff Thistle football club for all of their support in raising the necessary funds, as well as those who continue to support their ongoing fundraising efforts.

Since their inception in 2018 the group have introduced numerous new items to the park, including sensory play equipment and accessible pieces.
