Families are set to enjoy hours of free fun in Huntly this weekend.

Gordon Rural Action (GRA), a charity based in town which offers a wide range of services, is hosting a family day at the Linden Centre featuring top entertainment and informative stalls.

The fun event is being hosted at the Linden Centre in Huntly.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 15, between 10am and 1pm.

Attractions on offer at the family day will include a bouncy castle, a magician, crafts sessions and board gaming.

Facepainting will be available for a small fee, along with a team from Huntly Fire Station and a number of fundraising stalls.

However, the family day will also share the message of just how much good GRA and other organisations do in the local community.

The charity recently reopened a refurbished charity shop on Gordon Street and also operates the Baby Bank, Uniform Exchange services among others.

Information stalls at Saturday’s event will spread the work done by GRA, The Bikery, Homestart Garioch, Networks of Wellbeing, Latnem, Banardo’s, Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action (AVA), Aberdeenshire Council, Deveron Projects and Childsmile.

“We are putting on this free event so people can have a free day out with their children and see what services we have in Huntly,” Kayleigh Nicholls from GRA said.

“At last year’s event over 300 people attended and feedback from the event was great!”

Crafts sessions at the Linden Centre event have been organised by Wee Toots and Schools Out, the Huntly Hammers of War also hosting a board game session.

Kayleigh added that refreshments will also be available at the family day.
