Former Moray butchers set for chip shop transformation if Moray Council approves proposals

A Moray village’s former butchers could be transformed into a chip shop under plans submitted to Moray Council.

R.George Quality Butchers in Lhanbryde has remained empty for years but could be brought back to life if recently submitted proposals are consented.

The plans, submitted by CM Design on behalf of Suraj Thapa, outline the transformation of the building’s interior including a new shopfront and frying area.

The front of the shop will also undergo a significant change with a new sign as well as a new “high performance glazed door”.

Scottish Water and Moray Council’s transportation manager have both confirmed they have no objections to the plans.

However, the local authority’s environmental health manager is seeking noise and odour impact assessments adding that they cannot finalise a response until that “detailed” information is received.
