Nairn County supporter died at abandoned Highland League match against Brechin City





A Nairn County fan tragically died watching his team play in the Highland League on Saturday.

Nairn’shome match against Brechin City was abandoned at half-time yesterday after the man fell ill.

Emergency services attended but police confirmed that a 65-year-old died at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 4.10pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025, we were called to Balblair Road in Nairn following a medical emergency.

“A 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
