A MORAY community larder is appealing for donations to help struggling families through the summer holidays.

Fochabers Food Stop, which is based outside the Scouts Hall on the village’s Christie Place, are seeking to make hampers to help hard-pressed families through the school holidays when there is no access to free school meals.

While all donations are most welcome, the volunteer team at the Food Stop would be particularly grateful to receive the following items: Squash; juice packs; tuna mayonnaise; ice pole packs (which can be frozen); jellies; tinned pasta; noodles; long life rolls.

Families can be nominated to receive a hamper by messaging the group’s Facebook page or emailing them at fochabersfoodstop@yahoo.com.

The team recently joined Fochabers Village Association in running the Recycle Summer event in the Public Institute where wide range of quality, pre-loved clothes and other items were on offer.

Fochabers Food Stop was formed in October last year in order to provide a one-stop food resource which could be used anonymously by those who are struggling and need a little help
