Five new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Moray as total reaches 106

FIVE new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Moray, with the total since the outbreak began rising to 106.
Last week's Wednesday update showed 101 cases had been confirmed across the area, with five positive tests having been confirmed since.
However, there have also been 1220 negative tests confirmed in Moray since last week's update, with testing numbers up in the area.
The positive tests took place on August 19, August 22, August 24, August 25 and August 31 – with all results being confirmed in the last seven days.
The next death toll update will come on September 16, with last month's figures showing 20 Moray residents have died of covid-19.
Of those, 13 tested positive for coronavirus and died with 28 days – with the previous seven having covid-19 mentioned on their death certificate.
A total of 8543 coronavirus tests have been taken by Moray residents since the outbreak began, with 106 now positive and 8437 negative. That is a rise of 1226 tests taken since last week's update.
Across Grampian, 32 cases have been confirmed since last Wednesday. The NHS Grampian health board has now confirmed 1942 cases of coronavirus overall.
Scotland-wide update
Across Scotland, six deaths were registered in the week ending August 30 where covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate. That takes the number of coronavirus-related deaths in Scotland to 4228, with 2495 having tested positive and died within 28 days.
Over the last week, 99,171 people were newly tested, with 800 positive. One of these cases was confirmed in a care home.
Last night, five people were in intensive care with confirmed covid-19, with 248 in hospital.
Since the outbreak began, a total of 593,855 people in Scotland have been tested, with 20,788 positive and 573,067 negative.
