During the weekend of September 10-12 Formartine officers in connection with Road Traffic officers, have carried out a road safety initiative in the Turriff area.

This was a direct response to concerns raised by the local community and aimed to tackle anti-social driving.

A zero tolerance approach has been applied, with all drivers getting dealt with robustly.

In total five drivers were stopped and reported for offences relating to careless driving, no insurance, no MOTs and faulty vehicle conditions, with fines and warnings being issued.

This initiative will continue over the coming weekends in September, hopefully showing a significant reduction of anti-social driving and raise awareness of road safety and responsibility.

This falls under #OperationCedar (Challenge, Educate, Detect and Reduce).
