The much anticipated 2021 Erskine Firewalk took place at Lochter Activity Centre near Oldmeldrum.

The event was a roaring success as 18 participants walked over hot coals, literally, to raise a fantastic £6,500 for veterans charity Erskine.

Community fundraiser Michael Jamieson said “This is a fantastic amount of money to raise, and with this being the very first Firewalk event we’ve staged in aid of Erskine, I am so delighted with how it all went, even more so with the positive comments I’ve received from several of the participants, expressing their enjoyment and organisation of the event.

"As you can imagine, there are a lot of people to acknowledge with such a sizeable event.

"Thanks to CNR International, Enquest Aberdeen and Motive Offshore for their support, as well as Scott Bell of UK Firewalk and all the volunteers who helped on the night.

"Without them the event wouldn’t have been possible.

"Thanks also to the Lochter Activity Centre for their generosity, as well as a big thank you to the 18 brave souls who faced the challenge of the hot coals and the members of the public who sponsored all the participants to realise such a tremendous total”.

Each year Erskine provides crucial support to nearly 1000 Veterans and their spouses, however to do so they must raise around £10million annually in order to maintain the level of high-quality care provided.
