Scottish Fire and Rescue Service units from Huntly Keith and Aberchirder are in attendance at a fire in Church Street, Huntly.

The alarm was raised around 5.45pm for a chimney fire but the incident was further escalated to a house fire.

Road and weather conditions at the time were very poor with snow landing on already icy surfaces.

It is understood that the chimney fire spread to the basement of the three storey property.
