A96 crash near Huntly in Aberdeenshire prompts significant emergency response as woman taken to hospital as ‘precaution’
A crash on the region’s busiest road saw a significant response from emergency services, with one woman taken to hospital.
Police, fire and ambulance teams attended the two-car crash on the A96 near Huntly on the afternoon of Friday, September 27.
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed that two ambulances, two “special operations response teams” and a trauma team were rushed to the crash site.
Two vehicles from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also sent to the scene, with firefighters later passing one female casualty into the care of paramedics.
A road ambulance took the woman to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a “precaution”.
Firefighters then worked to make the area safe, before leaving the scene.
Police confirmed that officers had arranged recovery of the vehicles involved.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.54pm on Friday, 27 September, to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A96 near Huntly.
“Operations Control immediately mobilised two appliances to the scene where one casualty was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12:47 on September 27, to attend a road traffic collision on the A96 at Huntly.
“Two ambulances, two special operations response teams, an air ambulance and trauma team were dispatched to the scene.
“One patient was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.50pm on Friday, 27 September, 2024, we were called to a report of a two-car crash on the A96 near Huntly.
Emergency services attended and one woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
"Recovery has been arranged.”
