Findochty Primary School named School of the Year at Moray and Banffshire Heroes Awards 2025
Findochty Primary School has been named School of the Year at 2025’s Moray and Banffshire Heroes Awards.
Having a big vision and a set of values that encourage acts of kindness was central to the school being shortlisted at the awards yet again this year having been named Primary School of the Year last year.
The local community is at the heart of everything the school does and head teacher Dawn Thomson was proud to accept the award and emphasised the importance of the school’s values.
She said: “I’m absolutely shocked, delighted and can't wait to share it with the pupils and the parents in the village.
“The school has community at its heart and it's in the heart of the community and I think that's really important.
“I just think we have the children and the community at the heart of everything that we do and the children have the community at their heart and they're thinking of others and thinking of how they can support everyone to make the place and the world a better place.
“That's really important for the children, it's really important for the village and it's really important to get that message across to everyone.”
Ocean Winds sponsored the School of the Year award.
