Family fun ahead at Buckie Roots’ gala
THERE should be fun aplenty in store in the centre of Buckie soon when a local community group hold their gala.
Saturday, July 20 from 2pm to 4pm will see Cluny Square come to life thanks to Buckie’s Roots’ gala celebrations.
The group, whose dedicated team of volunteers work hard all year round, help keep the square and other areas across town looking their best. They also under take regular litter picks.
Buckie’s Roots chairwoman Meg Jamieson said: “We’re really looking forward to it and we’ll have lots of local groups and organisations joining us.”
Among the organisations scheduled to attend, operational factors permitting, are Buckie’s on-call firefighters and volunteers from Buckie RNLI lifeboat station. The life-saving maritime search and rescue charity is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year and Cluny Square has already been adorned with a massive RNLI flag.
Also among the many attractions on offer will be afternoon teas, lucky dips, a plant sale and charity stalls.
