Community event unites Turriff groups after pandemic

Turriff Community Fair provided an opportunity for local groups to to share their work with the community at the weekend.

In total 11 groups attended, engaging the public in conversations about their projects, what they offer within the community and how people can get involved and show their support.

Amongst the groups were Light House, Boys Brigade, Girlguiding, Turriff In Bloom, Men's Shed, Rotary, and Christmas Lights groups as well as Turriff Community Singers, Turriff And District Heritage Society, Turriff and District Community Council and Friends Of Turriff Cemetery.

The event also offered an opportunity for groups to network and discuss ways in which they could work together going forward to further benefit Turriff.

Sales of raffles and refreshments throughout the afternoon also raised £150 for Turriff Foodbank.

One group commented: "It was great to catch up with other groups and plan some collaborations for the future".

The event was organised by Miss Voluptuous UK 2022 finalist Kirsty Brown as part of her campaign to encourage people to support local.
