Extension to drainage improvements on A96 Huntly bypass finishes early





An extension to drainage improvements work on the A96 Huntly bypass is set to finish early.

Amey had extended the scheme from Friday, July 12 until Friday, July 19 due to unexpected issues with ground conditions, but it will now finish on Tuesday, July 16.

After a break, it will restart on Monday, August 5 until Friday, August 30.

The work has been ongoing since Thursday, June 13.

The £108,000 improvements, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, includes a filter drain replacement and installation of new gullies.

The essential works will increase overall safety and reduce flooding on the carriageway for more than 8000 road users who use this route each day.

The work is focusing on the A96 at Huntly railway bridge.
