FROM stunning landscapes to local scenes in oils, watercolours and a lot more, there was plenty to enjoy when Portgordon Art Group unveiled their 2019 exhibition of work.

Some 126 pieces were on display over the weekend of July 27-28 at Spey Bay hall which once again was testament to the depth of artistic talent in the area.

In addition to the chance to enjoy some artwork, one lucky raffle winner will be able to enjoy a pastel picture of their choice – worth £200 – created by Findochty professional artists and art group chairwoman Alanda Calmus. During the weekend, Ms Calmus also undertook a paste painting demo.

Speaking to the Advertiser, she said: "I'm really proud yet again of the work on show; every year you look at it and go 'wow', the standard keeps going up.

"During the year you see people working on their pieces but it's only when you see them up in a frame you really appreciate them.

"It's been a good year for the club and we're still on the lookout for more members."

The art group meet on Fridays at Clochan Community Centre from 1pm.
