The care home, which looks after up to 40 residents, is set to benefit from useful kitchen gear including two industrial microwaves, ovens, instant water heaters, griddle plates and even a panini maker.

Matron Kate Williams said Tesco had given the care home “first-class equipment”.

She added that the home’s “lovely residents will definitely benefit” from the donation.

“We were astounded to be offered such an amount of first-class equipment, and our lovely residents will definitely benefit from this act of generosity,” the matron said.

“We will soon be cooking for the Christmas season, so the kitchen staff’s job will also be made that little bit easier.”

The kitchen equipment had previously been used in Tesco’s former staff canteen.

Manager of Huntly Tesco Aaron Philp added: “Huntly is very fortunate to have a facility like Scott’s in the town and Tesco would love to work with them again in the future.”
