Ellon Rotary Club members carried out a spring litter pick to help tidy up the town.

More than 20 people from the group and other volunteers took part.

Their focus was on the grass verges around the A90 north roundabout and the park and ride car park areas.

It was a chance for the group to use its new Rotary in Action signs and there has been positive feedback from the community about the work that was done.

Organiser Mike Watson said: "It was great to have so many Rotarians and friends help out, although sad to see so much litter.

"Our efforts have made considerable difference to the area, and we hope to carry out further litter picks later in the year."

A large number of bags of rubbish were cleared from the areas.

Anyone interested in getting involved with the club's next litter pick can get in contact with the group.
