Election 21: Banff and Buchan - SNP hold the constituency

A jubilant Karen Adam has held the seat for the SNP with a much reduced majority of 772.

The Scottish Conservatives, Mark Findlater in second place, reduced the SNP's majority by almost 6000 slashing it from 23 per cent to 2.3 per cent.

The results were as follows-

Karen Adam (Scottish National Party) – 14,920 (45.11 per cent share)

Jason Duncan (Freedom Alliance – Integrity, Society, Economy) – 347 (1.05 per cent)

Mark Findlater (Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party) – 14,148 (42.78 per cent)

David Philip McHutchon (Restore Scotland) – 331 (1 per cent)

Alison Simpson (Scottish Liberal Democrats) – 1071 (3.24 per cent)

Georgia Strachan (Scottish Labour Party) – 2169 (6.56 per cent)

Declaration of constituency turnout for the Banffshire and Buchan Coast constituency-

Electorate – 58,816

Total votes cast – 33,075

Turnout – 56.23 per cent
