Big increase in voter turnout in Moray for Scottish Parliamentary Election

THERE has been more than a 10 per cent increase in voter turnout in Moray for this year's Scottish Parliamentary Election.
A total of 65.2 per cent of the Moray electorate (41,246 people) turned out to vote on the constituency ballot, a marked increase on the 54.1 per cent who turned out in 2016 (33,544 people).
The numbers were similar on the list ballot, with 41,221 votes, compared to 35,550 in 2016.
It remains to be seen who these additional voters will favour – with votes now set to be counted at the Moray Sports Centre.
A declaration time remains unknown.
