In a statement Turriff Christmas Lights Group said: "It is with great regret under the current situation and guidelines that this year's annual Christmas light switch on event will not be able to take place.

Fundraising for the lights continues with the announcement of a Duck Race to be held in October.

Ducks will be on sale priced at £2 each on Saturday, October 3 at Coo Corner from 10am till 2pm.

The race itself will be held on Sunday, October 25 and will feature a first prize of £100 for the first duck home.
