The Easter holiday Programme , which runs from March 31-April 11, offers something for everyone, providing an ideal mix of physical, creative and educational opportunities:

• Sports sessions: Young people can enjoy football, basketball, gymnastics, street dance and other team sports. Encouraging physical activity, teamwork and skill-building.

• Outdoor activities: Featuring sessions at Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre, activity days at Sir Arthur Grant Centre, Junior Live Life Cycling camps, Discovering Cycling sessions and tubing family sessions. These activities promote exploring Aberdeenshire’s natural environment while staying active.

• Create and discover sessions: LLA’s libraries will host games and activities including Lego Club, reading activities, Pokemon Club and craft sessions. These are designed to foster creativity and provide enriching learning experiences.

• ASN-specific sessions: The programme includes tailored activities for children and teenagers with additional support needs, ensuring all participants can enjoy and benefit from their holiday experience.

A special highlight will be the rock walks led by Macduff Marine Aquarium.

Children will have the opportunity to explore the thin strip of land that sometimes belongs to the sea and its inhabitants with a guided walk through the rock pools.

A master mariner will give them tips and tricks for finding and identifying sea creatures as they explore what the tides have left behind in local rock pools.

All sessions will take place at the east end of Banff Links beach and last around an hour - subject to weather conditions.

Councillor Anne Stirling, chairwoman of the council’s communities committee, said: “We are delighted to offer a diverse range of activities for children and young people this Easter.

“The Live Life Aberdeenshire Easter holiday programme provides an excellent opportunity for our community to stay active, engage with the surroundings, and develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment.”

Avril Nicol, head of service of Aberdeenshire Council’s communities wellbeing and partnership, said: "This Easter programme is an excellent example of how we can offer children and families a variety of activities that support their physical and mental well-being.

“I encourage everyone to get involved and take advantage of all the fantastic activities available across Aberdeenshire.”
