East Garioch by-election vote counting commences

Vote counting has started at Inverurie Town Hall for the East Garioch by-election.

It is being held following the death of Fergus Hood, who was a councillor in the area since 2007.

Voters in the ward went to the polls yesterday to elect a new councillor.

There are five candidates Scottish Labour's Andy Brown; Dan Ritchie of the SNP; David Keating representing the Scottish Conservatives; Trevor Mason of the Scottish Liberal Democrats and Jamie Ogilvie of the Scottish Greens.
