The Keith and Strathisla Covid 19 volunteer group want to ensure no one misses out this festive season.

That’s why the volunteers are looking at organising festive meals to those who will be on their own this Christmas.

As they turn their attention to planning, they want to find out how many people living on their own would appreciate a three-course meal delivered to their door on December 25.

Family and friends are also encouraged to make the request on behalf of a neighbour or loved one.

Once the demand is identified, the Covid 19 volunteer group will endeavour to provide a pre-prepared three course meal, ready to be heated through on arrival. This will be delivered by one of its team of volunteers to addresses in Keith and Strathisla.

Strathisla Community Council member Rhona Patterson said: "Christmas is a time for families, but we appreciate that this year, the pandemic restrictions might prevent families coming together like they usually do.

"That’s where we feel we can step in and deliver some festive cheer in the shape of a Christmas lunch delivered directly to households on Christmas Day.

"We’d encourage anyone who would like to take up this offer, or who knows of a friend, relative or neighbour who might like to receive a meal, to get in touch as soon as possible so we can start planning."

Keith Strathisla Covid 19 Volunteer Group delivered care packages across the area during lockdown and they remain active, operating a community larder which is run weekly at the Longmore Community Halls.

Keith and Strathisla community councils both support the volunteers.
