Drainage improvements on A96 Huntly bypass extended by a week
Drainage improvements on the A96 Huntly bypass are set to be extended until Friday, July 19.
This is due to unexpected issues with ground conditions.
Works will then restart on Monday, August 5 until Friday, August 30.
The £108,000 improvements, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, includes a filter drain replacement and installation of new gullies.
An Amey spokesman said: “The essential works will increase overall safety and reduce flooding on the carriageway for more than 8000 road users who use this route each day.
“Work will take place on the A96 at Huntly railway bridge and work will be carried out on weekdays between 9.15am to 3.30pm.
“To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the essential maintenance will be carried out with temporary traffic lights which will be in place from 9.15am to 3.30pm weekdays, and there will be a single lane closure of the southbound lane.”
