Norwood Hall Hotel, Aberdeen’s country house in the city, clinched the Wedding Venue of the Year (North) honour at the Scottish Wedding Awards after seeing off fierce competition from across the region.

It was a night to remember with the hotel also claiming the Local Wedding Exhibition of the Year award for its popular annual Norwood Hall Wedding Fayre.

The winners were announced during a black-tie ceremony held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow with judges impressed by the Norwood team’s commitment to providing first-class customer service to brides and grooms.

Stephane Portes, general manager at Norwood Hall Hotel, commented: “We’re thrilled to have won and to be recognised by our industry peers in this way clearly demonstrates the high standards we continually set and aim to deliver for all guests.

“We are fortunate to have many long-serving members of staff who play a huge role in our ability to deliver a consistent and high-end service thanks to their knowledge and experience of what it takes to make a wedding a success.

“I want to pay tribute to the entire team for their hard work and dedication to making sure that every wedding party has the best possible experience when choosing Norwood as the venue for their special day.”

Having secured the Wedding Venue of the Year title at the Top Tier Awards in both 2019 and 2022, this latest awards success for Norwood is welcome recognition for the hotel’s dedicated team of wedding professionals.

In 2022, they helped deliver a record number of 125 weddings.

The hotel never holds more than one wedding on any given day to ensure complete focus is given to each couple.

It caters for ceremonies of all sizes, from up to 200 people in the venue’s ballroom to smaller, more intimate affairs in the library or private function rooms.

Norwood’s acclaimed Tapestry Restaurant features traditional Scottish décor and is committed to providing the finest locally sourced produce and ingredients. Similarly, the menu for each wedding or event can be tailor-made to suit individual tastes or preferences whilst retaining an emphasis on quality food and drink.

Stephane added: “Norwood is a truly unique place, not only in terms of the character of the property itself but also in our versatility to accommodate any requests for every occasion, regardless of the size of the event.

“It was our pleasure to host a record number of weddings last year and we’re grateful to everyone who chooses to celebrate their big day with the hotel. Our team is looking ahead to another extremely busy year for weddings at the hotel.”

Built in 1881, the four-star hotel caters for weddings all year round and is the perfect setting for leisure or business guests with state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities within walking distance.
