The Rotary Club of Aberdeen St Fittick have grown a field of sunflowers to raise money for charities.

Past president Alastair Robertson has grown hundreds of the flowers, which visitors can pick in exchange for a donation (suggested £1 per bloom or £5 for up to 10 blooms).

The money raised will be divided between Rotary charities, including those helping Ukrainian refugees, and Alzheimer Scotland.

Last year's sunflower field raised £6500 for Charlie House's Big Build Appeal.

Mr Robertson said: "Sunflowers are a happy flower which prompt infectious smiles on the faces of the producers, on those who come to view, pick and purchase the blooms, on the faces of children who delight in the chance to select the flowers for Mum's bouquet, of the customers who get such good value for money, and the deserving charities who receive 100 percent of the sale proceeds."

You can support the fundraiser by visiting the field at Saplinbrae, Sauchen (AB51 7JR), or for more information you can call: 01330 833 210.
