At present the club is operating in player bubbles and so cannot accept new members for the moment, but with 20 senior and 10 junior players continues to offer competitve play thanks to the four Scottish Table Tennis Association trained coaches.

Chairman Doug Farquharson and members of the club welcomed representatives Iain Matthews and Rose Logan from Turriff Rotary Club to the session on Friday where they handed over a cheque for £200 which will be used for the purchase of new barriers and sanitising supplies which will allow more players to take part inside the hall.

Chairman Doug said: "The barriers will let us add an extra table and reduce the bubble size for players.

"Many of our junior and senior players are now involved in the Aberdeen and District League and one of our juniors is playing at national level, so to get back in action is important to them.

"Under normal circumstances we would welcome all new members who want to play on a Friday as we hold an evergreens over 40s in the morning and the club session in the evening, but at present we can't do that."

Rotarian Iain Matthews said:"We know that many clubs are struggling at the moment, including ourselves, in fact we will be down at the Turra Coo on Saturday raffling off a Christmas hamper to this ends.

"We have donated storage towers to Dawson Court, craft materials to the school and sanitiser and screens to the museum and we are delighted to be able to help here as well."
