The £415,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will deliver improvements to approximately 850 metres of the A90 carriageway.

Work will take place between Longhaven village and Mains of Longhaven.

An Amey spokesperson said: “To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures and overnight convoy working between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night.

“The A90 will be closed overnight between Monday, July 7 and Saturday, July 12 with traffic management removed by 6.30am on Sunday, July 13.

“Then, there will be overnight convoy working on Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17 to complete the works by 6.30am on Friday, July 18.

“During the overnight closures the following diversions will be in place.

“Northbound A90 traffic can turn left onto the A952 at Toll of Birness and follow the route north to Mintlaw. They can then take the third exit at The Square roundabout onto the A950 and continue to Peterhead to rejoin the A90 at Howe o’Buchan Roundabout. Southbound traffic can take the route in reverse.

“All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.”
