The public are being urged to dispose of their face masks responsibly.

With masks now mandatory in a variety of public places, Moray Health and Social Care have urged those using disposable masks not to simply throw them on the ground or leave them lying around.

A statement on their Facebook page read: "Face masks are now a part of our day to day life.

"If you’re opting to wear a single-use mask then please dispose of it responsibly by putting it in a bin. Remember to clean your hands before putting it on and after you take it off.

"Why not get a reusuable face covering that can be worn and washed again and again?"

The mandatory wearing of face masks on the likes of public transport or in shops was introduced as part of Phase 3 of the easing of lockdown in Scotland.
