A couple from Netherbrae, Fisherie, have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.

Ann and Sandy Cassie were due to mark the milestone with a large family celebration but this had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, they were visited by their son Ross Cassie on their special day, who is a councillor for the Troup area.

Sandy said: "We have always believed that our fathers schemed to bring us together, which happened at an army regimental ball.

"They will both now be 'up there' congratulating themselves on a job well done."

Councillor Cassie said: "Sixty years of marriage is a remarkable milestone. I am glad I was able to play a small part in marking such an anniversary.

"Along with all of the family I wish them both continued health and everlasting love."
